What did you do, pick off the paper-thin slices and eat them separately? Boggles me how Subway stays in business, ESPECIALLY in WalMarts, right next to their deli counter and bakery! I agree with Brielle, it all starts with the bread. But I guess you can't underestimate the drawing power of 'convenience,' even if you supply a product no where near what you could make at home. Subway is a shining example of the worst of capitalism, in supplying a product no where near what you can make at home. You could actually taste the meat in your Subway sandwich? My sister said the same thing when she traveled outside California. Recently, while I was ordering a sandwich, an employee actually whistled at a customer to get their attention to turn around and finish ordering. The customer actually said "sorry" and continued ordering. I would not have been that nice. They never look at me when I'm ordering either, and have no people skills. For example, when they asked me what kind of bread I wanted, they simply said "bread?" in an unhappy tone without even looking up. And when I asked what kind of bread they had, they didn't answer me, just stared. Pretty sad for customer service. Even my 11 year old daughter noticed how poorly they treated us.
