The Man x2
On your right, you see the count himself, Count Basie. On the left is the impossible Oscar Peterson. Oscar Peterson was known for his ridiculous speed while combining complex melodies. Count Basie was known for his use of space (resting) and superb note choices. I have drawn much of my personal style of piano playing from both of these two giants, though little of it has shown in the music found on this site.
The power of the internet!
So, I browse through my website’s data logs and get a peculiar hit. Someone came from a website called BetterDave.com. It is a guy talking for 15 minutes style of podcast (which some episodes have crude content you’ve been warned). In this episode he focuses on divorced couple’s kids and the consequences of not providing real parenting to them as well as the issues in our culture where kids are overprotected from failure. So, apparently he found my song, Injuries and Their Consequences, particularly appropriate and included the first half or so. Needless to Say, I’m ecstatic. The episode can be found here and is from November (wish I found this much earlier). He cuts to my song during the last third of the episode. This is just too cool!
